how to stay lazy in hectic environment?

I usually associated the word ´laziness´with rest. I could afford myself to be lazy after a lot of working or studying. The laziness used to be choice and pleasure. In my mental scheme, laziness was always associated with hedonism.
Not anymore. Laziness became a symbol of lack of 'productive' activities, a synomim for uselesness, despear, and time-waste.
What happened with our right to be lazy; to be organiser of our own physical and mental space?
Social pressure creates unbearable anxiety. This anxiety is well-integrated in our lives, dreams, social norms, mass culture, ambitions, expectations, future,...
I want to defend the right to be lazy.
'Lazy' means relaxed, free, and safe. 'Lazy' is opposite of slave.
Let us promote laziness. Allow yourself to be lazy and support laziness around you.
Don't worry be lazy!
All human beings are born free and equal in their laziness. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act toward one another in a spirit of laziness. (Universal Declaration of Human Laziness.)

Hello all! My name is Michelle, and I work in Casting for ABC's Wife Swap. We are currently looking for a fun and FUNNY family! If you or someone you know is the LAZIEST person around, give us a call. We want a family that doesn't stress about hard work. Manual Labor isn't for everyone right?

Families selected to appear on the show receive $20,000 from ABC Television. Any person who refers a featured family receives a $1,000 referral award. Families with strong personalities, who have unique hobbies, or who have anything unusual about their lifestyles are encouraged to apply. We're also seeking families that are strict, lenient, extremely clean or messy, extremely regimented, or who all work together at a business. Applicants must be two-parent households with at least one child between the ages of 5 and 20 living at home. Wife Swap is the series where two moms switch houses for six days and live in the shoes of the other woman. It’s a great experience for any open-minded family!

Create a Den of blankets, and pillows and munchies and toys all within arms reach, sit back and refind your lazy mantra.

It maybe a lot of work, but it will reconcile you with the easier days of child hood and non necessity. then in your comfortable times from here on out, you'll recognize the beauty you are creating, just from sitting on the couch.

Sorry - too lazy to share this chronicle article from last weekend by Michael which seemed like it written for our tribe. Luckily, I was lazy enough to throw the paper in the recycle bin so here is a lazy version.

Some commandments from the “Convention of the Idle” – 1) Let others always make the first move 2) Remember that exercise is for other people 3) Never, ever volunteer for anything.

Doing nothing takes as much devotion, care & concentration as doing something. It is an art as powerful as being able to sculpt, or dance, or turn a small investment into a fortune. It demands rejection of the belief that not being busy is a sin.

Really doing nothing requires that you commit yourself to it. You must rejoice in it unapologetically, not with fear of discovery or worry at being mistaken for a slacker, but with the confidence of someone who knows what she’s doing & doesn’t care what anyone else thinks.

The beauty of nothingness resides in the quiet pauses between doing. There is where true reflection can occur. It is there that our lives come into focus & we see what it is we are doing & who it is we’ve become.

If by chance we discover what’s truly important in our lives by doing nothing, then perhaps we really could make something out of nothing.

"Oh the sun if up", I think to myself. *yawn* I start making staple instant decaf coffee for lazies & staple instant cinnamon oatmeal, the choice of lazies. I swallow without chewing just like a real lazy triber. Heads back to bed under the warm sheets. *stretch*

"Where's that friggin' remote?", & reaches out. Ugh - what a struggle. TV is on but my mind drifts into nothingness. Slowly my eyes start to close & my mind wanders into blackness. I used to believe that laziness was my worst trait. Thanks to this tribe and the people I've met here and various other lazy people I've known... I've started to see things differently. I'm still not sure laziness is a positive trait but it seems to be tied to many of the traits I most enjoy about people... love, trust, seeking joy over wealth, peace...

For example, a lazy person will try to surround themselves with the most caring, trustwothy people they can find. If you surround yourself with untrustworthy people you'll be forced to remain vigilant at all times. That's too much work if you ask me.

I prefer to call myself a radical leisurist. Everyone is always go, go, go, work, work, work, make money and spend it, then go out and make more, repeat ad infinitum. It drives me crazy, I'm much too lazy for that lifestyle. Americans work such crazy amounts, and are expected to be driven and keeping busy or something all the time, it never gives people the time to sit down and think about life, what's actually going on in my life? what do i want out of life? so I like to give myself ample lazy time and sit around at home with my friends or my cat reading or watching tv or watching my cat sleep. laziness keeps me sane in an overdriven society.
